Mini Session FAQs

Q: What kind of photos do you take during mini sessions?
A: I shoot mini sessions the same as full ones; the only difference is minis have a time limit and you end up with 10-15 final images instead of 25-30. I'll have some props and a shooting area set up, and I'll get some fun poses as well as some candid shots; some of your group and individual shots if you want them. These minis are designed to give you amazing photos at a great value, period!

Q: Do you have props? What do we need to bring?
A: Yes! I have a great assortment of props I've collected just for these minis, both vintagey-classic and moderny-fun.

Q: What should we wear? AHHH!!??
A: The toughest part, right? Let me make it easy for you! Pick two colors, and make sure that each article of clothing worn contains at least one of the two. If you choose dark red and cream, just make sure each piece of clothing has some amount of dark red and/or cream in it. That simple!
Jeans and footwear would be an exception to the color rule. :)
When in doubt, ask -- I'm thrilled to help you with wardrobe ideas!
Whatever you do, just don't put everyone in the same outfit -- BORING!

Q: I want Package 2 or 3, but I'd like to get my hi-res files emailed instead of waiting on a CD.
A: No problem! Just let me know your preference. You can even get them by email AND on CD.
(Package 1 only includes emailed versions.)

Q: What payment forms do you accept?
A: Check is preferred, and I also accept credit/debit cards with a 5% processing fee.

Q: How long do I have to make my payment?
A: Full payment is required to reserve your time spot. Until it's received, someone else could get your time spot if they request it and pay first... so it's best to get it in asap!

Q: What's the maximum number of people we can have in our group?
A: You can have up to 7 people, max. There's just not enough time to take care of extended families or large groups during a mini - though we can certainly book a full session if that's what you need!

Q: Can Fido and Fluffy be in the photos?
A: Sorry, no pets during mini sessions. They're welcome for full sessions, though!

Q: How much does a mini session cost?
A: There are three packages to choose from this year! Check out the graphic above to see the options.

Q: What are hi-res digital files?
A: Hi-res digital files are simply the digital images from your session, in print size. Package 1 includes 2 of your gallery images as digital files sent by email; Package 2 includes 5 of your gallery images as digital files sent by email/CD/both; Package 3 includes ALL of your gallery images as digital files sent by email/CD/both. You choose the images you want for all three packages. Digital files are high resolution, edited, ready to print, and include a release to print unlimited copies of each image at a size of 11x14 or smaller.

Q: Can we purchase extra digital files with package 1 or 2?
A: Yes you can. Individual digital files are $75, or a full CD with all your gallery images is $340 ($675 for full sessions). You'll be able to order those right through your gallery.

Q: Can we add on more prints or products to our package?
A: Sure can - all ordering is done through your online gallery, and you can feel free to add on whatever you need with no minimum order requirement.

Q: Can I see the card designs you have available?
A: Absolutely! The link to view card designs is sent once your booking is paid so you can get a head start.

Q: Can we add on holiday cards to our package?
A: Yes! Holiday cards are available in a set of 25 for $40; each additional set of 25 is $30. Package 3 includes a set of 25, so to add 25 more would be $30. All cards are printed at my professional lab on artisan paper, are double-sided, and include envelopes. Return address labels are available to match all the designs (pricing and info is in the link you receive after you book).

Q: Do we get to see what our cards will look like before you print them?
A: Definitely - once you have chosen your card design and the images you want included, I'll create a proof and email it to you for your approval before sending to the lab for printing.

Q: What does "10-15 edited proofs" mean?
A: After your session, my work has just begun! I choose the best 10-15 images from those I take during your shoot, and I edit those for contrast, color, pop, etc to make them look their best. Those edited proofs are the ones I upload to your online gallery. From there, I send you an email with your gallery link and password so you can view your photos, and you're free to share the gallery link with whomever you like!

Q: What if we want to share our photos on Facebook or by email? Can we save them from the gallery?
A: The online gallery doesn't allow you to "right-click and save" for copyright reasons. You will be able to post your emailed/CD files online!

Q: Will you have any other special products, like storyboards or mini accordion albums?
A: Of course! I have some brand new designs for 2012, and these make AMAZING gifts for friends and family... or for yourself! Designs, pricing, and info are included on the link you receive after booking.

Q: Last year we could pre-order holiday cards and other products at a discount; can we do that again?
A: Sure can! That info is also on the link you receive after booking.

Q: Where can I find unique clothing?
A: Check out my where to shop guide here: http://blissphotograph.com/wheretoshop

Q: What happens if we have to cancel our session?
A: Session fees are non-refundable. However, you can apply the money you paid toward a future session. Or, if you can find someone to take your time spot for the mini session, once they have paid you can get a refund; it's up to you to find your replacement.

Q: If we arrive late, do we lose our spot?
A: Please plan to arrive about 5 minutes early, and plan your route in advance; use a service like Google maps to make sure you know how long it will take you to get to the location. If you arrive late, this will cut into your time, because there will be someone scheduled after you and their session needs to start promptly.

Q: What if my child doesn't cooperate?
A: Try to choose a time spot that will work well for little ones -- for instance, avoid nap time! It's also a good idea to bring a little snack and drink along; something non-messy like cheerios and bottled water. We have a lot of fun during sessions, so usually kids are entertained and there's no problem. Occasionally a tough customer might require a little bribe, and I'm ready with the lollipop in case it becomes necessary (always with your permission). Don't stress about how your kiddos might act; I've photographed hundreds and have three of my own, so I know lots of tricks. Stay calm and look lovely, and let me worry about the rest!

Q: How long does it take to get our gallery link?
A: After your session, allow around 6-10 days to receive your gallery link by email. From there, you will have 5 days to make your package selections, and order any additional products if desired. This ensures that all orders are placed (and paid, if applicable) in time to meet lab holiday deadlines.

Q: When will we receive our digital images, prints, etc?
A: Digital files can be emailed as soon as you get your gallery link to view and choose the images. CDs, prints, and other products are ordered through my pro lab and take around 7-10 days to get to you from the time you've ordered (and paid, if applicable).

Hope to see you soon!!
